چکیده
Blackberry fruit (Rubus spp.) has a powerful antioxidant capacity due to the high levels of anthocyanins and other phenols it contains. In this work, we investigated physico-chemical characteristics, bioactive compounds (total phenols, flavonoids, monomeric anthocyanins), seven blackberry cultivars belonging Rubus fruticosus L. laciniatus genera growing in NW region Romania. addition, wild cultivar from same area was also evaluated. Anthocyanins were extracted using SPE (Solid Phase Extraction), anthocyanin profile identified quantified HPLC-PDA analysis. terms polyphenol content capacity, two examined stood out. The majority found blackberries cyanidin-3-glucoside, with highest amount recorded ‘Thorn Free’ at 329.26 ± 9.36 mg/g dw. Comparatively, ‘Loch Ness’ fruits exhibited total phenol contents 1830.98 13.55 1687.14 62.41 mg GAE/100 g dw, respectively. Antioxidant capacities varied significantly among eight cultivars, achieving values comparison others. findings multivariate analysis supported experimental results. Knowing phytochemical composition potential different blueberry one can use them as fresh, functional foods or for commercial purposes produce products derived concentration components.

Effect of Thermoultrasound on the Antioxidant Compounds and Fatty Acid Profile of Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus spp.) Juice.
Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus spp.) fruit has high antioxidant activity due to its significant content of anthocyanins and antioxidant compounds. Among emerging technologies for food preservation, thermoultrasound is a technique that reduces microbial loads and releases compounds with antioxidant properties. The objective of this study was to determine the antioxidant content and fatty acid prof...
متن کاملAntithrombotic mechanism of polysaccharides in Blackberry (Rubus spp.) seeds
The blackberry seed was typically removed as a byproduct and waste from blackberry fruits for juices. Developing value-added utilization of berry seeds will significantly expand the market for berry products as well as improve benefit to berry producers. However, the research on blackberry seed is limited. The objective of this paper was to research antithrombotic mechanism of polysaccharides i...
متن کاملBioactive compounds and the antioxidant capacity in new kiwi fruit cultivars.
The aim of this investigation was to find the best among seven different kiwi fruit cultivars ('Hayward', 'Daheung', 'Haenam', 'Bidan', 'Hort16A', 'Hwamei' and 'SKK12') for human consumption and to classify them as groups. Therefore, the contents of bioactive compounds and the level of antioxidant capacities of these cultivars were determined in four different extracts and compared. It was foun...
متن کاملAmazonian Native Palm Fruits as Sources of Antioxidant Bioactive Compounds.
The Amazon region has many sources of fruits, especially native ones not yet explored, but which have some potential for use, as is the case with certain palms. The objective of this study was to evaluate the content of bioactive compounds and total antioxidant capacities of fruits from native palms from the Brazilian Amazon. The fruits of five palm species (bacaba, buriti, inajá, pupunha, and ...
متن کاملAnalysis of Phenolic Compounds and Antioxidant Activity in Wild Blackberry Fruits
Twenty three different wild blackberry fruit samples were assessed regarding their phenolic profiles and contents (by LC/MS quadrupole time-of-flight (QTOF) and antioxidant activity (ferric reducing ability of plasma (FRAP) and 2,2-azinobis (3-ethyl-benzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS)) by two different extraction methods. Thirty four phenolic compounds were detected (8 anthocyanins, 15 flav...
